Just a quiet and clean homestay up in the mountains of northern Bali. Munduk is just a small village with no nightlife at all. Very authentic and an ideal stay for backpackers and those who like to walk in nature.
The family which owns Karang Sari gusthouse is friendly and polite. After arrival we got a welcome drink of lemonade. The guesthouse is located some 15 metres down the road, so we did not hear much traffic sounds. The rooms are all next to each other and are charming and clean. We were the only travellers there; no neighbours at all. Breakfast is served in a cozy pavillion in the well kept garden, just under the big clove tree. With the toast we got homemade strawberry-papayaconfiture, delightful!
The housekeeper Mr. Nyoman can give you great tips about what to see during walkingtrips. Thanks to him we discovered amazing waterfalls in a landscape full of palmtrees, coffeeplants, clovetrees and cacao trees! In Munduk life is still unspoiled, but how long will this last? They are building luxurious bungalow resorts already….even here, in the quiet mountains!
